Formed in 1929 and still going strong today. Our aim is to promote the art of photo imagery.
Our evenings consist of monthly monochrome, colour and digital projected image competitions. We also enjoy entertaining and informative programmes with high quality speakers, and evenings when our own members give talks social events including occasional day trips.
Meetings are on Thursday at St Michael’s Church, SS7 2UW at 7.45pm finishing at 10:00pm (term time from September till May). (please see the map on our Contact page for directions).
We welcome all new members. If you are unsure, why not attend up to 3 sessions for £3 per session. If you decide to join, this will then be deducted from the Annual fee of £85. (This can be paid in two halves if needs be.) This covers all charges including Competition entry fees. Under 18’s and students pay £15 per annum, and again this covers Competition entry fees.
All levels of photography are catered for and beginners are made very welcome. There is no obligation to enter work into the competitions – you can sit back and enjoy seeing the work of others before having a go yourself. You can, however, enter work as soon as you become a member if you wish.
There is always a warm and friendly atmosphere at the club and we have a refreshment break during the evening when members can view others’ work, ask advice or simply get to know each other.
Leigh Camera Club is affiliated to the Photographic Alliance of Great Britain (PAGB) through the East Anglian Federation of Photographic Societies (EAF) and as such we take part in a variety of inter-club competitions, a great way for our members to look at work from other camera clubs.
